The Dark Crystal was the first release of the SierraVenture series. Even though it is the sixth in the series, earlier games were originally published by On-Line Systems, Sierra On-Line's original name before being renamed in late 1982.
The game was released in a large folder with the same cover as the movie poster by illustrator Richard Amsel. The folder also contained a poster with Jen placing the crystal shard back in the dark crystal.
Note that only the Dark Crystal is present among the box covers in this section - spin-off The Gelfling Adventure has its own game page as there are too many differences in the game to consider them the same.
