- In early versions of the game, type "ken" on the first screen of the game. Ken Williams will appear, complaining how the game was behind schedule. This has been eliminated in later versions.
- When you press the "don't touch" button in the escape pod, you'll wind up in King's Quest 1 and Ken and Roberta Williams commenting about another Space Quest player being eaten by the gators in the moat.
Enter the following search strings into the computer at the Lytton Police Department:
- "Jim Walls" (designer of Police Quest) results in "Nice ol' family man; former CHiP (not as in cow).
- "Ken Williams" (founder and CEO of Sierra): "Like a civil servant: we can't fire him and can't get him to work."
- "Al Lowe" (Police Quest programmer and creator of Leisure Suit Larry): "Former programmer; author of that cult classic, "Bop-A-Bet!"", also referring to one of Al Lowe's first games.
- "Greg Rowland" (programmer of Police Quest): "Computer renaissance man: artist, programmer, guitarist."
Read the wall in Vohaul's toilet to find sentences such as "King Graham cross dresses", in reference to the King's Quest series. There is also a reference to Al Lowe and Ken Williams.
When Larry waits to get a seat at the restaurant, the receptionist first lets all the rich people pass and take a seat, including Mr. and Mrs. Gates (referring to Bill Gates of Microsoft) and Mr. and Mrs. Williams, referring to Ken and Roberta Williams, founders of Sierra On-Line.
In the programming cubicles at ScumSoft, there are two guys walking up and down, whipping the workers. These are Ken Williams and Rick Cavin, who was head of production at the time.
At the end of the game Roger Wilco and the Andromedans land at the Sierra offices in Oakhurst. Ken Williams greets them and hires both Andromedans as programmers.
Ken Williams, the game's executive producer and founder and CEO of Sierra has a cameo in Lefty's bar. Notice the third person on the left with the mustache.
In the archive room on the Arcada, type the code for Binary Systems into the computer and it will respond with "Ken took that home home. That means we'll never get it back, so don't bother checking back later." This is a reference to Ken Williams.
When looking at your desk in your office, look at the desk to your left for a reference to Ken Williams, founder of Sierra On-Line (who indeed moved to Seattle when Sierra opened its new headquarters there).
