In the mountains, in the screen after the yeti's cave, LOOK VALLEY for a reference to the Half-Dome and Sierra: "That must be Daventry! But why is Half-Dome here?" you wonder. "But, of course," you think, "it's a Sierra game!".
- When you talk to one of the guards at the Deltaur, he will eventually ask you if you've played King's Quest II (which gets you points). The player also asks him if he played King's Quest 3, which he confirms to have bought for 128,000 buckazoids. The guard also names his favorite massacre: "The Daventry Rout".

When reading the newspaper in the briefing room, there is an article about a 3-headed dragon in Daventry, referring to the dragon to which Rosella is being sacrificed at the end of King's Quest III.
When pulling over a car in the inner city, you'll stop the driver in front of the disco of Leisure Suit Larry 1. If you type "LOOK STORE", it will say "It's just an old, abandoned disco, left over from another Sierra game". If you type "LOOK SIGN" (the taxi sign in Leisure Suit Larry), it will say "Fresno 41 miles."
Enter the following search strings into the computer at the Lytton Police Department:
- "Jim Walls" (designer of Police Quest) results in "Nice ol' family man; former CHiP (not as in cow).
- "Ken Williams" (founder and CEO of Sierra): "Like a civil servant: we can't fire him and can't get him to work."
- "Al Lowe" (Police Quest programmer and creator of Leisure Suit Larry): "Former programmer; author of that cult classic, "Bop-A-Bet!"", also referring to one of Al Lowe's first games.
- "Greg Rowland" (programmer of Police Quest): "Computer renaissance man: artist, programmer, guitarist."
Dial the number 209-683-6858 from the narcotics office phone to call Sierra On-Line Customer Support. Larry Weissenborne will answer the phone, suggesting to order a hint book, but using a real phone.
Walking in the alley at the left of Lefty's bar will kill Larry. Luckily for him, the Sierra crew is working around the clock to create new Larries. There is also a spare Graham from King's Quest 1, along with the dragon, and the droid Roger Wilco purchases in Space Quest 1. Save before trying.

At the top of the escalator at the airport, you can find Leisure Suite Larry. Talk to him him to hear the Leisure Suite Larry tune. Talk to him some more for some funny lines.
In the death scene where Sonny gets locked up after randomly shooting around, there is also a picture of king Graham of King's Quest IV in the newspaper.
In the homicide office, use your phone to call the Sierra Customer Support Line: (209) 683-6858.
When you call this number there is also a 30% chance that Al Lowe (designer of Leisure Suit Larry) answers the phone. He'll say the following:
Hi This is Al; Al Lowe.
Well, hello Sonny Bonds. I don't know how you got me --must have been a bad connection. But since you sound like a potential customer, let me tell you about a new game out.
I just finished a great game called Leisure Suit Larry Goes Looking for Love in Several Wrong Places (LL2 for short).
You'll love becoming Larry Laffer, who's a little bit like all of us - a jerk, a nerd, and a loser.
But you can help Larry improve his self-esteem by finding the girl of his dreams.
So how does it sound?
Well go to the nearest software store and buy a copy - the funniest and funnest game I've ever played - and I'm sure you'll like it just as much as I do.
If this sounds like a promo, it is. But then why else did you call me?
Please note though, that Leisure Suit Larry is NOT, I repeat NOT, based on my own personal experience.
I gotta go now. I'm working on my new game "Leisure Suit Larry III featuring Polyester Patty."
Oh, and by the way, "Have a nice day".
You can also call Sierra's BBS line (which tells that BBS is so popular that all 16 lines are busy): (209) 683-4463

Many barbers in Larry 2, 5 all together, but the one at the airport surely has ended up in the wrong game series. Never trust princess Rosella of King's Quest IV to give you a haircut. SHE is supposed to have the nicest long blond hair, not Larry (duh!)
In the game's resource file, there is a reference to King's Quest 3 in text032, which refers to Larry's cabin on the cruise ship. The text reads: "You feel nothing but dust. (But remember this if you ever play King's Quest III.)"
It refers to the cupboard in Larry's cabin. In King's Quest 3, Gwydion looks on the top of a cupboard to find a small key - hence the reference. Unfortunately we have not yet been able to trigger this Easter Egg in Larry 2 as it appears this line of text as not linked to any command. If you do know the command that triggers it, please let us know!
In the game's resource file, there is a reference to Jim Walls and Police Quest 2 in text040, which refers to the jungle maze on the island after Larry escapes the cruise ship. The text reads: "You discover Jim Walls testing Police Quest II. Jim! You were supposed to be on vacation."
Unfortunately we have not yet been able to trigger this Easter Egg. If you know the command that triggers it, please let us know!
If Larry doesn't wear the wig after leaving the ship, the death sequence mentions Sunnyside Soft, which was Al Lowe's own game development company before he joined Sierra.
Many of the items in Erasmus' entrance hall are props of other Sierra games:
- the airplane refers to Lytton PD from Police Quest

Then type "TICKLE FINIAL" and the game will respond "You've been playing King's Quest IV too long!", referring to Rosella tickling the whale's uvula with a feather.
Astro Chicken is a spoof on Police Quest: In Pursuit of the Death Angel, where the cops put a chicken on the sergeant's desk. It uses the same jolly tune too.

Programmer Bob Andrews added the room known as "the room removed for legal reasons". It was... well... removed for legal reasons, but is still in the resource files of the CD-ROM release. According to Bob, you accessed this room by typing in Sierra's phone number and Scott's extension into the time pod's keyboard. It could be accessed by typing the following 3 codes in the time pod. Make sure to save the game before trying this because, once in the room, you can't leave it any more.
The room itself is taken from King's Quest 6 (the secret passage Alexander accesses to find Cassima). Only the staircase and frontal brickwork have been removed.
From left to right, the items removed for legal reasons are:
- Slug Chow: A parody of the Ralston Purina Company's Dog and Puppy Chow. This was likely considered questionable because Purina owned Everready Battery Company. Sierra had already drawn the legal ire of the company due to the Energizer Bunny Mishap. The death scene by the sewer blob and the sea slug, showing this "slime chow", was replaced in the CD version with an alternate image.
- Hero's Quest was the original title for the Quest For Glory series, but was later changed because of copyright issues involving the "Hero's Quest" board game.
- The two long bearded men are from the music group ZZ-Top. Originally appearing in the Rocket Bar in the VGA version of Space Quest 1, they were removed after a lawsuit against Sierra for using their likenesses without permission.
- The dinosaur on the wall is the character Earl Sinclair from the Disney produced television series, Dinosaurs. He appeared in the VGA remake of the first Quest for Glory game.
- The Radio Shock sign was removed from the Galaxy Galleria in Space Quest 4 and replaced with Hz. So Good in the CD release, due to its similarity to electronics supply story chain, Radio Shack.
- The Droids R Us sign from the original EGA version of Space Quest 1. Later versions of the game had the name changed to Droids B Us due to liability issues of the name's similarities to the toy store chain Toys R Us.

- You must be thinking of "FREDDY PHARKAS, FRONTIER PHARMACIST," the critically-acclaimed comedy Western game from Al Lowe and Sierra! Now available at finer software stores everywhere.
- (That was blatent commercialism!)
Dial the following numbers on Larry's phone in his hotel room:
- 911. They ask to leave a message.
- 976, followed by 4 random numbers (eg. 976 1234) to access La Costa Lotta's sex line.
- 18724## (lo-res) or 683-4468 (any): Mark "Ceeburp" (referring to Mark Seibert) answers the phone of Sierra On-Line while the song "Girl in the Tower" (jokingly called "Girl In The Shower") from King's Quest 6 plays in the background.
- 16659## (lo-res): Victor Sadauskas answers the phone.
- 23292##: Al Lowe answers
- 275####: William R. Shockley answers.
- 34555##: Dan Woolard answers.
- 47653##: The Sadauskas Residence answers
- 5695### (lo-res) or 49852## (hi-res): Chris Carr answers.
- 58704## (lo-res) or 40942## (any): Carlos Escobar answers. Same as the "Concierge's Desk", but with a greeting "You've reached the Fresno Insult Line" in lo-res, and "Carlos Insult Line" in hi-res.
One of the gangs in the computer database is called the "Red Dogs", stating that two of its members, Charlie and Slater are hiding in the Sierra Nevada mountains. This is a reference to Slater & Charlie Go Camping, developed by Sierra's daughter company Red Dog Studios.
When you're not in the company of Sam and Julie, you can play the arcade game in the Short Stop Bar. It's titled "Stroids, another fine adventure from the Sierra family of games". At the end of the game you'll see the high scores, containing both names of Sierra game characters (Larry Laffer, Sony Bonds) and Sierra employees (Chris Carr, Dan Woolard, Daryl Gates and Lyle Lovett).
Use the hand icon on the computer in Luella Parker's office to get a reference to "Space Quest V: The Final Frontier". The real title of Space Quest V, released a bit before Police Quest 4, is actually "Space Quest V: The Next Mutation". Space Quest VI on the other hand was titled "The Spinal Frontier" but wasn't released until late 1995. Weird uh?
The computer monitor in Parker Center is of the brand "BrightStar", which is the name of Sierra's daughter company which developed edutainment titles like the Talking Tutor series. Also, you log in on server "Sonny", a reference to Sonny Bonds, the protagonist of Police Quest 1 through 3, designed by Jim Walls.
The icon to program an item is a little island. This is a reference to Screen Antics: Johnny Castaway. There are also several sounds in the game taken from Johnny Castaway, including Johnny's humming and Mermaid Marie's chirping sound.
When Adrienne has finished taking bricks from the fireplace in the study room, the hole looks anything but normal. It in fact resembles Sierra's Half-Dome.
Two songs on the jukebox in the clock tower ("Little Tommy Tucker" and "Little Jack Horner") are taken from the game Mixed-Up Mother Goose Deluxe, for which Guy Whitmore was also the composer.
Behind the stage curtain in the theater in Tenebrous, you can hear several performances:
- Girl in the Tower from King's Quest VI
- the Freddy Pharkas, Frontier Pharmacist theme
- the Leisure Suit Larry theme (which quickly ends with a cymbal crash and Al Lowe sputtering "B-b-b-but? Aww..." and a walk offstage)
- Cellblock Love from Leisure Suit Larry 6
- Consumite Furore, the Phantasmagoria title song
- The music from King Rupert's home in Escarpa.

Torin's Passage was Al Lowe's most recent project before Larry 7, and he made several references to Torin within this game. As early as the opening credits of the game, you can see a tiny Torin and Boogle on the sidewalk, next to the ship. See them?
The most obvious reference to Torin occurs when Larry, once again, returns to his cabin in the nude, after the fashion show. Recognize the cameraman?
The announcer at one point may also say that Slim and Slime (the 2 snails in Torin's Passage) have won the Moat Olympics.
Login to the WynTech network as either Jocilyn or Therese with the password: xxx. A small black and white box will appear on screen and ask you to "Enter nudity code". This Egg works in every chapter. This gives 50 Easter Egg points.
Type: adrienne (protagonist of Roberta Williams' Phantasmagoria) as the nudity code after completing the above step. A message will appear saying "Nudity code activated!". If you log into the network as Jocelyn or Therese again and follow this step and the previous one, you will get a new message that says "Nudity code De-activated!". Every time you activate or deactivate the code, you will hear dialogue from either Jocelyn or Therese, depending on what name you used to log in. This Egg works in every chapter. This gives 100 Easter Egg points.
This Easter egg is not part of the Easter Egg point system. In the mail in chapter 3, Curtis receives an add from a bookstore, announcing the latest novel by Adrienne Delaney. Adrienne Delaney is the protagonist of Roberta Williams' Phantasmagoria.
In the library, a book can be found which was written by Hubert Windlenot, the crazy professor who created the Museum of Strange and Unusual in Shivers 1.
In many places throughout the game, you can find walls which have Valve (the developer) vaguely displayed on them. The image below, for example, was taken in the ceiling space in the office complex. The name also appears in other places, such as shown on the second image, which is by the entrance of the freezer.
In the Frozen Reaches, use the sword on the Snow Nymph outside the palace to talk to her. Do this again with the Nymph on the left of Queen Freesa (from her perspective), Freesa herself, and the nymph on her right (from her perspective). Finally, click on the west wall, on the 7th stone from the entrance corner, 3rd from the bottom. The stone is just beside the hanging banner. A "Where's Dildo" from Leisure Suit Larry 7 will appear in winter clothing. Then the following conversation ensues:
Connor:" What is this strange device?"
Freesa: "That golden fragment... how striking. It must have awesome power. I can sense its vibrations."
Connor: "Thank you, your Majesty."
Freesa: "Your weapon my Lord. Pray... put it away."
Connor: "By my oath, what goes here?!"
Freesa: "The crystal scepter, Sir Knight."
Connor: "Quite a task, your Majesty, but I shall do my utmost. There is a small depression here. Good heavens! A veritable paradise!"
At the start of the game, when getting off the tram and waiting for the guard to open the door from the inside, another tram approaches. As it passes, you see Gordon Freeman, the protagonist of Half-Life, on it. In fact in the original Half-Life (released 3 years before Blue Shift), as you (as Gordon Freeman) are entering Black Mesa with the tram, you also pass Calhoun banging on the closed door.

Check out the cameras in the video surveillance room. One of them will show Gina Cross (Half-Life: Decay and the Hologram in the Half-Life training room) bringing the specimen to the Anomalous Materials Lab.
One final appearance by Gordon Freeman occurs at the very end of the game. When Barney Calhoun teleports outside the Black Mesa Facility, he shortly is wrongly teleported to Xen and then to a room where he sees the captured Gordon Freeman being dragged away by grunts.
Another cameo of Gordon Freeman. Check out the cameras in the video surveillance room. One of them will show Gordon heading for the Anomalous Materials lab. Check the camera several more times and one of the scientists will perform a little dance.

Again, this is taken directly from the original Half-Life, including the scientists that have a chat.

Knock on the door in the mountainside. If nothing happens, leave the screen, re-enter and knock again. At one point the door will open and Leisure Suit Larry will appear. This is the rarest Easter egg in the game and has a VERY slight chance of occurring.
In Chapter 1: The Proposition, on the billboard across the message machine are several references to the NOLF series. The opera poster is Inge Wagner from NOLF 1. The pink paper with 3 girls are the three assassins Cate needs to kill at the end of NOLF 1. La Troupe refers to La Troupe de Pantomine from NOLF 2, a group of mime cronies, headed by Pierre, who was hired by the Director to kill Cate Archer.
Also, the "how to pick up classy chicks by Steven Lee" likely refers to Steve Lee, a Senior 2D/3D Artist of Contract J.A.C.K.

An arcade machine of Freedom Force vs the 3rd Reich can be found on the second floor of the level Victory Imports Auto Center. Freedom Force vs the 3rd Reich is also a game created by Irrational Games.
In several game levels, a cardboard can be found of "Tribes: The Movie, coming March 2007". This is a reference to the game Tribes: Vengeance, also created by Irrational Games and published by Sierra/Vivendi in 2004, half a year before SWAT 4.
Go left in the desert and you may see a saurus chased by Jackalmen. This is a clear reference to Quest for Glory 2: Trial by Fire, which was also remade by AGD Interactive and released in 2008.
In the library of Schloss Ritter, we can hear the synopsis of 2 books on the occult. They are in the top shelf of the bookcase placed in the center of the wall behind the table. When Gabriel picks up 2 books (twice) of that shelf, the narrator will tell us the summary of the 2 books: Lycantrhopes (werewolves) and Vampirism, an obvious reference to GK2 and GK3. This Easter Egg also appeared in the original Gabriel Knight 1.

Look at the trash can by the entrance door of the police station. The narrator says "Interesting design for a trash can. Must have been on sale at Cops-R-Us.", a reference to Toys-R-Us. It's possibly also a nod to Droids-R-Us of the first release of the original Space Quest, which was removed from the game after Toys-R-Us filed a lawsuit to Sierra Online for using their name (sort of).
If you take a close look at the portraits of Malia's family members in her library, you'll notice one of them is the portrait of Malia of the original Sins of the Fathers.
When Graham first meets the Hobblepots, he asks "So... I just GOTTA know! What is brewing in that cauldron? Is it a transfiguration elixir? Is it an invisibility potion? If I drink it, will I understand the language of creatures? Will I sprout the wings of an eagle? Or a fly?"
The language of creatures and wings of an eagle or a fly are clearly references to King's Quest 3 where Gwydion (prince Alexander) escapes from the wizard Manannan by making these specific potions.
When Graham first meets Amaya in her store and notices the gardening tool (the weed whacker), he asks "So... I've been meaning to ask... What is that amazing blade for? Is it for battling vicious Were-Bears? How many Ice Orcs has it slain? Does it deal justice? Is it road legal? Is it made of fear?"
The Were-Bears is a reference to the Were-Bear in King's Quest 7 and the Ice Orcs is a reference to the Ice Orcs in the Frozen Reaches of King's Quest: Mask of Eternity".

While in the dragon cave, Graham and Achaka crawl through a narrow tunnel which strongly resembles the tunnel King Graham crawled through to escape the Dark Woods in King's Quest 5.
