Crazy Nick's Software Picks: Leisure Suit Larry's Casino

General

In the summer of 1992 Sierra combined mini arcade sequences, casino and board games that were originally included in various adventure and Hoyle games, and released these mini compilations as budget releases in blister cards under the title Crazy Nick's Software Picks. These contained a single 3.5" floppy and were released for the PC only. Five such compilations were released. Leisure Suit Larry's Casino contains the games Slot Machine and Blackjack that were originally games included in the VGA remake of Leisure Suit Larry 1 In the Land of the Lounge Lizards, and Poker that was included in Leisure Suit Larry V: Passionate Patti Does a Little Undercover Work.

The aim of slots is to pull the handle of the one-armed bandit and hope to get one of the winning combinations to appear on the machine for a payoff. These combinations can be one or more cherries, two or more bells or sevens, or three Bars to win the Jackpot.

The object of Video Blackjack, also known as Twenty-One, is to beat the dealer with a hand of cards that does not go over a total of twenty-one. The value of the hand is the sum of its cards. Face cards count as 10, Aces count as either 1 or 11 and all other cards count as their face value. After the deal of two cards, you can then Hit until you want to Stand, or until you Bust. You win if you have higher points than the dealer (without going bust).

The goal of video poker is to obtain a winning hand to earn a pay-offs. A winning hand (in order of increasing pay-off) can be a Pair of Jacks or Better, 2 Pairs, 3 of a kind, a Straight, a Flush, a Full House, 4 of a kind, or a Straight Flush. After the initial Deal, select which cards you want to keep in hand and press "deal" again to exchange the other cards for new ones. If you have a winning hand you'll receive the respective pay-off - otherwise you lose.
