Darek Lukaszuk

Biography


Early life

Dariusz (Darek) Lukaszuk was born on October 19 1964 in Warsaw, Poland to Tatiana and Wlodzimierz Lukaszuk. He lived in Poland until 1980, then lived in Kuwait until 1983, when he moved to Eugene, Oregon. He received his bachelor's of science degree in computer science and psychology from the University of Oregon.

His hobbies included traveling, skiing, watersports and cars.


Dynamix


Passing

On December 8, 1995, Darek sadly died from his injuries in a car accident. He was only 31 years old. The funeral was held on December 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eugene. He was survived by both parents and his brother, Piotr Lukaszuk, who also worked at Dynamix. Dynamix tributed Earthsiege 2 and 3-D Ultra Pinball: Creep Night, both released shortly after his passing, in Darek's memory. Darek is still credited for his programming work in the 3-D Ultra Pinball games released years after his passing.
