Although Kevin VanDam has only been fishing on the top tournament circuits full time since 1990, he's established himself in a hurry. A native of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Kevin was chosen B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year in 1992 in only his second full season on the circuit, and won the title again in 1996. Kevin's winning prowess with spinnerbaits has greatly boosted this versatile lure's popularity in competition, and led to both a video, Kevin VanDam's Proven Spinnerbait Techniques, and a book, Kevin VanDam's Bass Strategies.
Kevin has qualified for the B.A.S.S. Masters' Classic six times—or rather, every time he's tried. With career earnings already totaling $425,000, Kevin also holds the record for the most consecutive money wins with twenty-three. His earnings currently place him 17th on the overall money list.
