AGD Interactive (Tierra Entertainment)

Description

Anonymous Game Developers Interactive, AGDI for short, (first named Tierra Entertainment from 2001 to December 9 2003), is a group of Sierra fans determined to revive the adventure game genre. They remake classic Sierra adventure games, enhance them to modern standards, and then offer them as free downloads.

The identity of the developers was first unknown, and there was speculation that adventure veteran developers were behind the projects. It was later however revealed that the company was founded by Chris Warren and Britney Brimhall. The first release of the first game by Tierra Entertainment, the VGA remake of King's Quest 1: Quest for the Crown, was entirely developed by the two founders. The game however was updated multiple times as volunteers from around the world joined up, adding speech, improved graphics and more.

In 2011, after the release of four Sierra remakes, AGDI also formed a commercial adventure games company, named Himalaya Studios. The first commercial title is Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine. On March 22 2013 Himalaya successfully Kickstarted their second commercial project, "Mage's Initiation", raising over $125,000.
