Problems saving
When choosing to save, the only options available are "Change Directory" and "Cancel." No matter what you insert to "Change Directory," the program won't accept it. To fix this, just click "Change Directory", leave the field blank and click OK.
OUT OF HEAP message at Mordack's machine
First try a restart and restore. It is not a problem that always reoccurs. Alternatively, in the game's Control Panel, raise the SPEED to maximum and lower the DETAIL to minimum. Then play the game. in few occasions, it only works if you don't save at all after getting Mordack's wand. Just run to the laboratory and do the wand machine sequence.
Running King's Quest 5 on modern systems
King's Quest 5 runs fine under DOSBox. If you are not familiar with DOSBox, you can download the automatic installer for the game from the Sierra Help pages.
