- When you talk to one of the guards at the Deltaur, he will eventually ask you if you've played King's Quest II (which gets you points). The player also asks him if he played King's Quest 3, which he confirms to have bought for 128,000 buckazoids. The guard also names his favorite massacre: "The Daventry Rout".
- Walk behind Droids-B-Us and type "take leak". You get one of three messages ("You beam with pride having just written your name in the sand.", "You leave a moist arch on the building's side." or "Drat! You could have done without that sudden gust of wind."). You can also find 5 hidden buckazoids.

- The Blues Brothers (playing "Can't Turn You Loose") and ZZ-top (playing "Sharp Dressed Man" from their 1983 album "Eliminator") appear in the bar at Ulence Flats. In the VGA remake also Madonna appears.

- Droids-B-Us is a parody of Toys-R-Us, a real corporation which sued Sierra for the use of their name. Sierra won the lawsuit, but had to change the original Droids-R-Us to Droids-B-Us. The name was also changed on the coupon inside the game box in later versions.

- When starting Space Quest 1, you are asked to enter your name. If you don't enter a name your name will automatically be "Roger Wilco". Many people think this name was introduced in Space Quest 3, but that is obviously not true.

- In early versions of the game, type "ken" on the first screen of the game. Ken Williams will appear, complaining how the game was behind schedule. This has been eliminated in later versions.
- When you press the "don't touch" button in the escape pod, you'll wind up in King's Quest 1 and Ken and Roberta Williams commenting about another Space Quest player being eaten by the gators in the moat.
Read the note behind the right-most tree in the screen north-east of where Neptune's trident is found. The note advertises Space Quest 1 and King's Quest 3.
While in the whale's mouth, take the bottle, get the note and read it several times for references to various Sierra games. The references are:
- Help! The girls in "Leisure-Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards" are mighty uncooperative. Give me some help here, guys!
- I see a beautiful mermaid in "King's Quest II," but she won't help me! Tell me what to do!
- Anybody out there! I had a condor drop this bottle in the nearest ocean to beg for help with "King's Quest I." Help me fight this fire-breathing dragon!
- Help! I'm about to get blasted by evil Sariens in "Space Quest!" Anybody have a handy ray gun out there?!
- Sludge Vohaul is holding me prisoner in "Space Quest II!" Help me out of this jam!
- Drug dealers are terrorizing the city of Lytton! I need a partner to help put away these bad guys in "Police Quest!"
- Hey, I need help here! The wicked Horned King has had me thrown into his dungeon! If I don't get out of here, then evil will rule the world in "The Black Cauldron!"
- Help me! I'm lost at sea in "King's Quest III!" I'm with a bunch of nasty pirates who want to feed me to the sharks! If you can, come quick!
- I'm a little kid, and my name's Tommy. I'm having trouble with Old King Cole and Humpty Dumpty in "Mixed-Up Mother Goose!" Come and help me!
- Oh, no! Help me!! I'm stranded on an airplane with a guy named Ken, being chased by the KGB and an evil army of henchettes, former church secretaries, game show hostesses, and bimbos. Buy "Leisure Suit Larry Goes Looking For Love (in Several Wrong Places.)"
Walking in the alley at the left of Lefty's bar will kill Larry. Luckily for him, the Sierra crew is working around the clock to create new Larries. There is also a spare Graham from King's Quest 1, along with the dragon, and the droid Roger Wilco purchases in Space Quest 1. Save before trying.
Look at the trash can by the entrance door of the police station. The narrator says "Interesting design for a trash can. Must have been on sale at Cops-R-Us.", a reference to Toys-R-Us. It's possibly also a nod to Droids-R-Us of the first release of the original Space Quest, which was removed from the game after Toys-R-Us filed a lawsuit to Sierra Online for using their name (sort of).
One of the directory's of the computer in homicide office is called Sierra. Access it to see files for King's Quest 1 through 4, Silpheed, Manhunter, Thexder, Gold Rush, Mother Goose, Space Quest 1 through 3, and Leisure Suit Larry 1 and 2. Selecting any of the titles will give a short description of the selected game.
Programmer Bob Andrews added the room known as "the room removed for legal reasons". It was... well... removed for legal reasons, but is still in the resource files of the CD-ROM release. According to Bob, you accessed this room by typing in Sierra's phone number and Scott's extension into the time pod's keyboard. It could be accessed by typing the following 3 codes in the time pod. Make sure to save the game before trying this because, once in the room, you can't leave it any more.
The room itself is taken from King's Quest 6 (the secret passage Alexander accesses to find Cassima). Only the staircase and frontal brickwork have been removed.
From left to right, the items removed for legal reasons are:
- Slug Chow: A parody of the Ralston Purina Company's Dog and Puppy Chow. This was likely considered questionable because Purina owned Everready Battery Company. Sierra had already drawn the legal ire of the company due to the Energizer Bunny Mishap. The death scene by the sewer blob and the sea slug, showing this "slime chow", was replaced in the CD version with an alternate image.
- Hero's Quest was the original title for the Quest For Glory series, but was later changed because of copyright issues involving the "Hero's Quest" board game.
- The two long bearded men are from the music group ZZ-Top. Originally appearing in the Rocket Bar in the VGA version of Space Quest 1, they were removed after a lawsuit against Sierra for using their likenesses without permission.
- The dinosaur on the wall is the character Earl Sinclair from the Disney produced television series, Dinosaurs. He appeared in the VGA remake of the first Quest for Glory game.
- The Radio Shock sign was removed from the Galaxy Galleria in Space Quest 4 and replaced with Hz. So Good in the CD release, due to its similarity to electronics supply story chain, Radio Shack.
- The Droids R Us sign from the original EGA version of Space Quest 1. Later versions of the game had the name changed to Droids B Us due to liability issues of the name's similarities to the toy store chain Toys R Us.
