Elvis cameo

In the post office, on the left wall, there is a portrait of "The famous Italian musician, Elvisantro Presligheri", a clear reference to Elvis Presley. In the maze of Penn Mansion, you can even run into him - from the maze entrance go straight to the end, turn left, turn right and open the door.

Notice by the way how similar he looks to Percy, General Pugh's butler? Perhaps Percy is secretly an Elvis impersonator to release some of that stress he endures from the Pugh family.

Contest winners cameos

When visiting Goody in Act 3, two unusual-looking kids, named James and Nathan Grayson, are in her store. She can only offer them cabbage cookies, which General Pugh confiscates from them. After they leave the store, Goody explains to Pepper that they're from the far-off land of Sierra where they won a contest.

Monty Python

When Lockjaw is knocked out by the carriage at the end of Act 1, a conversation ensues that is a clear reference to the "dead parrot" Monty Python scene.

- "Well that hardly matters, does it, you malodorous fellow. That dog is dead."
- "He is not! He's just stunned he is!"
- See here now, man, that dog is stiff as a board!"
- That dog was stiff before he even hit your carriage! See there, he's looking at you! Hello, doggie!"
- "He is NOT looking at me because he CAN'T look at me! That dog has perished! He is deceased! Defunct! He is an EX-DOG!"

Easter Eggs referring to Pepper's Adventures in Time

Castle of Dr. Brain (Egg id: 388)

In Dr. Brain's office, look at the notes on the board to find one stating "Help little girl find lost dog". This could very well be a reference to Pepper's Adventures in Time where Pepper's dog Lockjaw is kidnapped by General Pugh's daughter Ima.
Even though Pepper's Adventures in Time was released shortly after Castle of Dr. Brain, it was likely in full production at the time.
