Many of the items in Erasmus' entrance hall are props of other Sierra games:
- the airplane refers to Lytton PD from Police Quest
- the coffin could refer to Dracula's coffin in King's Quest 2
- the sarcophagus refers to the mummy's sarcophagus in King's Quest 4 (and pictures Rosella as a hieroglyph, see image below).
- the peacock on the table also refers to King's Quest 4
- the suit of armor refers to Laura Bow: The colonel's Bequest
- the shield refers to Conquests of Camelot
- the onklunk refers to Leisure Suit Larry 2

Recycled moose
Look at the moose on the wall for a reference to Sierra's prop department. Moose heads have in fact been used several times in Sierra games: in Lefty's Bar in Leisure Suit Larry 1 (AGI), in Manannan's dining room in King's Quest 3, and possibly other games.
The fair in Nothingham is full of cameos and references.
Screen 3:
- The sad fellow sitting against the fence at the bottom right, named Lance Notalot, says "I wanted to be a hero, but my quest for glory had a tragic end.", referring to Quest for Glory 1: So You Want to Be a Hero.
- At the left side of the pharmacist sits Christy Marx, the designer of the Conquests series. Talk to her and, after congratulating you for finding her, she starts messing around with your game points (but in the end leaving them as they were).
- the man in orange on the right side above the fence is animator Jerry Moore. He says "Listen to what part of this text says, 'Move thy rodent and as thy rodent moves, so moves the symbol thou hast chosen. Bring thy chosen symbol to rest upon a person or object, then clicketh thy finder upon the rodent to bring forth the response of the symbol'. Can you say what it means, yeoman?"
- the group of gamblers on top of the screen are the bulk of the game programmers. There is Mistress Goff (Cynthia Goff), Robert of Fischbach (Bob Fischbach), Sir Brian De Hughes (Brian Hughes), Robert of Mallory (Robert Mallory), and Todd Powers.
- The woman top center in the blue dress, Mistress Baker, listening to the doomsayer, is programmer Vana Baker.
At the gate which leads to the land in the clouds, try to "pick lock" for a reference to the "Famous Adventurer's Correspondence School", which is a reference to Quest for Glory 1 and 2.
Programmer Bob Andrews added the room known as "the room removed for legal reasons". It was... well... removed for legal reasons, but is still in the resource files of the CD-ROM release. According to Bob, you accessed this room by typing in Sierra's phone number and Scott's extension into the time pod's keyboard. It could be accessed by typing the following 3 codes in the time pod. Make sure to save the game before trying this because, once in the room, you can't leave it any more.
The room itself is taken from King's Quest 6 (the secret passage Alexander accesses to find Cassima). Only the staircase and frontal brickwork have been removed.
From left to right, the items removed for legal reasons are:
- Slug Chow: A parody of the Ralston Purina Company's Dog and Puppy Chow. This was likely considered questionable because Purina owned Everready Battery Company. Sierra had already drawn the legal ire of the company due to the Energizer Bunny Mishap. The death scene by the sewer blob and the sea slug, showing this "slime chow", was replaced in the CD version with an alternate image.
- Hero's Quest was the original title for the Quest For Glory series, but was later changed because of copyright issues involving the "Hero's Quest" board game.
- The two long bearded men are from the music group ZZ-Top. Originally appearing in the Rocket Bar in the VGA version of Space Quest 1, they were removed after a lawsuit against Sierra for using their likenesses without permission.
- The dinosaur on the wall is the character Earl Sinclair from the Disney produced television series, Dinosaurs. He appeared in the VGA remake of the first Quest for Glory game.
- The Radio Shock sign was removed from the Galaxy Galleria in Space Quest 4 and replaced with Hz. So Good in the CD release, due to its similarity to electronics supply story chain, Radio Shack.
- The Droids R Us sign from the original EGA version of Space Quest 1. Later versions of the game had the name changed to Droids B Us due to liability issues of the name's similarities to the toy store chain Toys R Us.
