Enter the following search strings into the computer at the Lytton Police Department:
- "Jim Walls" (designer of Police Quest) results in "Nice ol' family man; former CHiP (not as in cow).
- "Ken Williams" (founder and CEO of Sierra): "Like a civil servant: we can't fire him and can't get him to work."
- "Al Lowe" (Police Quest programmer and creator of Leisure Suit Larry): "Former programmer; author of that cult classic, "Bop-A-Bet!"", also referring to one of Al Lowe's first games.
- "Greg Rowland" (programmer of Police Quest): "Computer renaissance man: artist, programmer, guitarist."
Dial Sierra On-Line's number (209-683-6858) at the phone booth in front of the store to get a Leisure Suit Larry hint book promo and reference to Al Lowe.
Read the wall in Vohaul's toilet to find sentences such as "King Graham cross dresses", in reference to the King's Quest series. There is also a reference to Al Lowe and Ken Williams.
In the homicide office, use your phone to call the Sierra Customer Support Line: (209) 683-6858.
When you call this number there is also a 30% chance that Al Lowe (designer of Leisure Suit Larry) answers the phone. He'll say the following:
Hi This is Al; Al Lowe.
Well, hello Sonny Bonds. I don't know how you got me --must have been a bad connection. But since you sound like a potential customer, let me tell you about a new game out.
I just finished a great game called Leisure Suit Larry Goes Looking for Love in Several Wrong Places (LL2 for short).
You'll love becoming Larry Laffer, who's a little bit like all of us - a jerk, a nerd, and a loser.
But you can help Larry improve his self-esteem by finding the girl of his dreams.
So how does it sound?
Well go to the nearest software store and buy a copy - the funniest and funnest game I've ever played - and I'm sure you'll like it just as much as I do.
If this sounds like a promo, it is. But then why else did you call me?
Please note though, that Leisure Suit Larry is NOT, I repeat NOT, based on my own personal experience.
I gotta go now. I'm working on my new game "Leisure Suit Larry III featuring Polyester Patty."
Oh, and by the way, "Have a nice day".
You can also call Sierra's BBS line (which tells that BBS is so popular that all 16 lines are busy): (209) 683-4463
Al Lowe and Bill Skirvin make several cameos in the game. At one point they are at the cabana, checking out the bra of a bypassing lady. On another occasion they sit at a table in the Comedy Hut.
The disco is filled with Sierra staff. At the upper left sits designer Al Lowe. At the same table is Bill Skirvin. At the lower left table sit programmers Oliver Brelsford and Mike Larsen. At the lower right table sit Kevin Ray and Barry Smith. And at the upper right sits animator Roger Hardy.
Check out the little papers sticking on the wall in the general store for the following reference:
"Wanted! Dead or alive! For crimes of bad taste, innuendo and perversion. Albert 'The Tinkler' Lowe, alias 'The Talking Bear', alias 'Rottweiler Al', alias 'creator of the cult classic 'BOP-A-BET'. Reward: $500 dead, $15 alive", referring to game designer Al Lowe and BOP-A-BET.

- 18724## (lo-res) or 683-4468 (any): Mark "Ceeburp" (referring to Mark Seibert) answers the phone of Sierra On-Line while the song "Girl in the Tower" (jokingly called "Girl In The Shower") from King's Quest 6 plays in the background.
