Inventory items in King's Quest III are either marked with an asterisk or not. Gwydion should not carry the marked items when Manannan is present as these are suspicious items which Gwydion is not allowed to carry. Gwydion can hide these items below his bed.

Gwydion finds the magic map in the wardrobe in Manannan's bedroom after moving the clothes. With it, he can teleport to any location in Llewdor which he has already visited.
Gwydion finds this small brass key on top of Manannan's bedroom closet. It unlocks the cupboard in his study.
Gwydion picks up Manannan's nasty cat in the hallway and pulls a couple of hair's out of him. They serve as a spell ingredient.
