Space Quest 4 OST on vinyl!TweetNews ID: 462 Date: 2020-01-12 Source: https://qrates.com/projects/19631?fbclid=IwAR0g5eIq1uWpU6yBsh8oP_vXxqa1elynSeSHE7MTvAoUv3JGmFSN3SINjqU The classic soundtrack to Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers is coming to vinyl. The music has been reorchestrated with modern sound patches, but uses the original MIDI data from the game. Everything you hear was composed and performed by original composers Ken Allen and Mark Seibert in 1991 - no tracks have been added or re-recorded. Think of it as playing Space Quest IV, but instead of using a Sound Blaster or an MT-32, you're playing it with a previously unheard-of, realistic-sounding new sound card. But on your turntable. This is a non-profit project. If there are any residual profits, they will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Buy your own Space Quest 4 soundtrack on vinyl from here! Also available is the 7" companion to the Space Quest IV soundtrack. When creator Troels Pleimert was putting together the Space Quest IV reorchestrated soundtrack, he knew I had to make some tough decisions. There is only room for about 20 minutes on each side of a 12" record, and he was already going a bit over, so some good tunes had to be cut. In the end, he ended up cutting most of the tunes from arguably the most iconic location in the game, the Galaxy Galleria mall. Which is kind of a pity, so he created this 7" companion EP. It runs at 33 1/3 RPM and contains a medley of all the music from the Galaxy Galleria (except the Software Store, which is just the Space Quest theme played on a single-tone PC speaker, and the Skate-o-Rama theme, which is already on the 12" soundtrack album).
